The 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), held in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22, underscored the essential role of clean hydrogen focusing on climate change.

The conference featured the adoption of a “Hydrogen Declaration,” spearheaded by the COP29 Presidency, calling for enhanced global collaboration to scale up hydrogen production and deployment.

The declaration emphasized hydrogen’s essential role in enabling the transition to a sustainable economy and addressing energy needs while reducing emissions, with the goal of deploying hydrogen technologies at scale by 2030, integrating both renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production.

1.What is your role in the FrHyGe project, and what inspired you to take part in it?

O.Delprat: My role is the overall coordination, to lead the project towards its objectives, together with the Work Packages leaders, integrating the 17 members of the consortium and liaising with the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.

O.Lhote: Mine is to ensure that the partners have the necessary information to carry out their technical studies, that communication between the sub-projects takes place and keeping track of the critical tasks and their implementation...
