FrHyGe & EUH2STARS joint event at the European H2 week 2026: Enabling Europe’s Hydrogen future through large-scale storage
The European projects FrHyGe and EUH2STARS are demonstrating two key pathways for Underground Hydrogen Storage (UHS) in Europe.
While FrHyGe focuses on hydrogen storage in salt caverns, EUH2STARS is developing underground hydrogen storage solutions in depleted natural gas reservoirs.
Two complementary approaches that are expected to play a crucial role in Europe’s future energy system (e.g., energy resilience, security of supply and competitiveness).
Taking place within the European Hydrogen Week 2026, the event will bring together leading experts, policymakers, industry representatives and project partners to exchange knowledge and discuss the deployment, operation and integration of underground hydrogen storage across Europe.
